Dylan Clarke cannot wait to fly to Japan after being selected in the NSW Junior Baseball League team for a series of games in August. Dylan, 11, of Werrington County, will take part in a series of games in Miyagi as well as live with a Japanese family while over there. “I think it is going to be fun and I am going to enjoy learning about the Japanese culture,” Dylan said. “It’s really big to play overseas and the Japanese are very good at baseball so it will be good.”

This week’s nominee for the Penrith Press Junior Sports Star award – sponsored by Rebel – plays for the Quakers Hill Pirates. His dad Damien said it’s a good chance for Dylan to test himself.

“Dylan has a private coach (Craig Cant) who he trains with as he wants to better himself,” he said.

“We are all very excited about him going over to Japan.” Also because he is staying with a Japanese family while over there, we will also have someone from Japan stay with us when they have teams come over here to tour next year. “So it is a great idea overall.”
